The Stranger Song

The rains have passed. Although the cold still accompanies the gloomy days. I try to understand life, Chile today and as much as I try, I can’t reach a final and constant reflection. We went from the outbreak to the desire for authoritarianism, and I can’t commune with the culture of cancellation that erases art, books and people with one stroke. Maybe social networks amplify everything and pit us against each other. I remember when everything was simpler, in a carefree way, where we weren’t exposed all the time. Maybe thanks to AI social networks, public and where we are all, will end, because big companies won’t want to give their data for free. Paywalls are coming and maybe we’ll go back to those places where we’re not all, just a few, those who share something more than simple voyeurism.
I can’t stop listening to this song by Leonard Cohen because he and this song represent everything that this time is not.
“And then leaning on your window sill
He’ll say one day you caused his will
To weaken with your love and warmth and shelter
And then taking from his wallet
An old schedule of trains, he’ll say
I told you when I came I was a stranger”
